Editors Park West Review

Wednesday, September 12, 2007
By Aaron Keker

PARK WEST, Chicago – Last evening the Editors played for a sold out Park West in Chicago, Illinois.

The evening started with a performance by the Ra Ra Riot and was followed by a hard-hitting performance by Biffy Clyro.

As vocalist Tom Smith and the rest of the Editors entered the stage, they received a loud ovation.

Tom and the Editors opened their set list with “Bones” from their album An End Has a Start. After Bones concluded, they received a loud ovation and clapping.

Last evening, each song that the Editors played on their set list was either greeted with a large ovation or clapping coupled with a loud ovation.

In fact, there was one audience member, who was really enjoying herself. After she proceeded to drink several beers, she was swinging her arms like a pendulum as she sang each song on their set list. Besides, the pendulum swinger, everyone in the audience appeared to be really enjoying the Editors performance. Just listen to each ovation after each song concluded.

The Editors played some of their biggest hits like “All Sparks,” “Bullets” and “Munich” from the album The Back Room. As Tom sang the lyrics to “Munich” the audience provided the background vocals as they sang along with Tom and the Editors.

The Editors played some of their newer hits like “An End Has a Start”, “The Racing Rats” and “Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors” on their album An End Has a Start.

This is the first time that I watched the Editors perform and I have to say that I really enjoyed their performance. From the ovations, the sing-a-longs and the pendulum swinger what an awesome evening to spend with the Editors on a Tuesday evening in September. However, I wished they would have played “Someone Says” from the album The Back Room.

If you are unfamiliar with the Editors visit their website at www.editorsofficial.com or their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/editorsmusic and listen to their music. If it turns out that you really enjoy their music, I would encourage you to purchase their music at iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody or any other store that sells their music.

In fact, if you visit Napster or Rhapsody, purchase their acoustic versions of “All Sparks,” “Munich” and “Someone Says.” They sound even better stripped down acoustically.

Finally, I am looking forward to providing future coverage for the Editors next time they perform in Chicago. Maybe next time, they will perform “Someone Says?” Below is the set list from Chicago.
