About

It all started in 1989 when Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora played acoustically on the MTV Music Awards. Jon and Richie rocked the house! As MTV and VH1 started to create their own acoustic unplugged series, Aaron Keker (Pronounced “Kecker”) started becoming a fan of acoustic music. Then in 2003, the digital music age was upon us.

In 2004, iTunes became extremely popular. Aaron Keker had purchased an iPod and started to download acoustic music from bands that he was vaguely familiar with on iTunes. That sparked an even deeper passion of acoustic music that it was like a drug addition to Aaron Keker. Keker started purchasing acoustic music on Napster and Rhapsody, too.

Aaron Keker then realized that he was not only a huge fan of acoustic music, but that he wanted to create his own acoustic show. Instead of moving either to the East or West Coast, Keker chose to remain in Chicago and create his vision of an acoustic show in the Midwest. The show would be entitled Always Acoustic™.

Aaron Keker created Always Acoustic’s web site and started using the name “Always Acoustic” in October 2006. In early January 2007, the first press request ever was approved for Always Acoustic. The band was Hinder. Always Acoustic’s original vision was publishing online only live concert reviews and album reviews. It was only after a brief discussion with Mike Rodden from Hinder on January 29, 2008, that Aaron Keker thought why not conduct interviews, too.

On March 18, 2008, Aaron Keker conducted his first interview with Jasen Rauch from RED. Keker has interviewed artists like David Cook, Blower and Mark King from Hinder, Brent Smith from Shinedown, Sam Endicott from The Bravery, Myles Kennedy from Alterbridge, Tyler Connolly from Theory of a Deadman, Jonny Hetherington from Art of Dying and Michael Lombardi from Blood Moon Therapy (formerly known as Apache Stone).

On March 27, 2008, Aaron Keker filed a trademark application with the U.S.P.T.O. to use the name “Always Acoustic” and the application was granted on May 26, 2009. Always Acoustic, Inc. was incorporated in Illinois on March 1, 2010. Aaron Keker is CEO and President of Always Acoustic, Inc.

Currently, Always Acoustic, Inc. provides entertainment services by providing concert reviews, album reviews, as well as band and musician interviews under the names Always Acoustic® Review, Always Acoustic® Album Review and Always Acoustic® Interview.

Aaron Keker conducts his interview by trying to create a perfect chemistry mixture of music and non-music related questions. Keker remarked, “I like to make the interview interesting and personal by asking music and non-music related questions. There is more to an artist than their musical talents. If you find that unique question or questions to ask, it makes the interview more entertaining. Doing your research is extremely crucial in separating your interview from your peers.”

Aaron Keker did his research and it resulted in a humorous exchange with Tyler Connolly about the “Lowlife” music video. Keker even attempted to deflect some heat from Theory of a Deadman’s “Bitch Came Back” by making individuals aware of MJ O’Shea’s iTunes song “All Men are Bastards.” Keker remarked, “The last time I checked, Americans have a First Amendment right to free speech. Of course, there are limitations, you can’t yell “fire” in a crowded theater. If it is offensive to you, change the song or switch radio station.”

There are several misconceptions about the “Always Acoustic” name. The first misconception is that individuals believe that Always Acoustic, Inc. only covers acoustic music. That is not true. In fact, a majority of the artists that Always Acoustic covers are not strictly “acoustic.” Keker remarked, “If Always Acoustic, Inc. limited ourselves to only acoustic music, we wouldn’t be where we are today.” Always Acoustic is just a captivating name that Aaron Keker created.

Another misconception is that Always Acoustic is a tribute to Bon Jovi. Although Bon Jovi has definitely influenced Always Acoustic, Inc., we are not a tribute to Bon Jovi.

Always Acoustic, Inc. has worked with all of the major and independent record labels and they are very passionate about the artists they cover. Below are the social networking links for Always Acoustic and Aaron Keker.
